A strange call came into 911. It was a 5-year-old girl named Mia. She looked scared and spoke in a whisper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officer knelt down and began tapping on the floorboards. In one corner, the sound was dull. The police quickly removed a small section of the parquet \u2014 and underneath found a thin layer of earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking a shovel from the garage, they began digging\u2026 and after a few centimeters, they hit a metal cover. Underneath was a tunnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They called for backup. After two hours, it was discovered that beneath the house and neighboring lots there was a whole network of tunnels.<\/p>\n\n\n

Three fugitives were hiding there \u2014 former prisoners who had been in hiding for months, preparing an escape abroad by digging right beneath the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
