\u2014 These are\u2026 live chickens, \u2014 the officer said in disbelief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 Yes, \u2014 the grandmother replied calmly. \u2014 I told you, I\u2019m bringing gifts for my grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 Ma\u2019am, you know it\u2019s forbidden to transport animals without proper documents!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grandmother sighed deeply:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 I just wanted my grandchildren to have fresh soup. Everything there is so expensive, and I raised these hens myself \u2014 they\u2019re good, home-raised ones\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officer didn\u2019t know what to say. He looked at his colleague \u2014 who simply shrugged. After a short discussion, the head of security decided that the chickens should be handed over to the airport\u2019s veterinary service, and a report would be filed against the woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the staff gently removed the animals from the suitcase, the old woman began to cry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
