A young mother, her coat torn and her shoes worn, fell to her knees at the counter, cradling a frail little girl in her arms.
A teddy bear dangled from the child’s hand as her small chest struggled to breathe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The nurses looked away.
The patients watched\u2014some with pity, others with indifference.

Billionaire. Ruthless businessman. A man whose empire spanned glass towers and boardrooms.
